Producing words, phrases and longer passages in spoken messages with literal and implied meaning, such as expressing a fact or telling a story in oral language. Using gestures, symbols and drawings to convey messages, such as shaking one's head to indicate disagreement or drawing a picture or diagram to convey a fact or complex idea. Conveying, with formal sign language, literal and implied meaning. Producing the literal and implied meanings of messages that are conveyed through written language, such as writing a letter to a friend.
